Coming September 10, 2019 from Charlesbridge Publishing!
Meet mischievous Vole and grouchy old Troll. Vole wants to cross the bridge to where the literal and proverbial grass is greener, but grumpy old Troll lives under the bridge and offers two options: pay the toll or be eaten.
Vole outwits Troll three times by distracting him with clever, interactive songs (which will be quite familiar to young children and caregivers). But Troll catches on eventually. Does Vole end up as a tasty casserole in Troll's bowl? In the end, the pair lays aside their differences and embraces their common love of music.
“A harmonious twist on an old favorite with bonus action songs.” - Kirkus Reviews

2013 marks the 20th anniversary of the publication of The Itsy Bitsy Spider!
This was the first in my nursery rhyme extension series and has sold over a million copies by my primary publisher alone! Starting off the celebration, Charlesbridge is offering, to teachers and librarians, an extra 10% on this book- and all my titles- and for all of 2013! Here is a PDF with the details.
Please stay in touch, both here and on my blog as we will have other fun activities, giveaways, etc. Thanks!
This January, I also had the honor of being featured on Eric Van Raepenbusch's wonderful blog: Happy Birthday Author.
He came up with amazing activities for 9 of my books, and is kind enough to share them with everyone! Please check out the post and see pictures of these activities in action. And here is the downloadable PDF. I only ask that you give Eric credit when you use the activities, as he has done a wonderful thing.
A black bear has been sighted and heading to a bookstore near you!
The book is now available! An early review from Kirkus says:

Last Fall's premiere of Black Bear's Hudson Valley Tale was a great success! Both children and adults gave the show rave reviews! I will keep you informed of upcoming performances.
Black Bear's Hudson Valley Tale is a story that I wrote. It is about a bear who lives in the Catskill mountains and has a big adventure that brings him to the Hudson River valley. It is also a seasonal story, celebrating our wonderful mountains, the Hudson River and surrounding valley.
The story was set to a terrific musical score by David Gluck of the group, Madera Vox- a classical/crossover quintet. They have worked with a theatrical choreographer, Marleen Pennison, to create a spectacular children's musical. David Gluck is the composer/percussionist, Nicole Golay is the oboist, Sylvia Buccelli is the pianist, Cornelia McGiver is the basoonist and Kelly Ellenwood is the soprano and narrator. They are all amazing performers and the show is engaging, entertaining and both melancholy and side splitting funny!
CDs with the full musical score and narration of the tale are now available. To purchase CDs or to find out more about this program, go to :
