Dog Days of Summer

A little doggie diversion, as I am up against a deadline. But who doesn’t love dogs?

Six years ago- Jambo and I.

He picked me.

Then grew fast  into all those wrinkles

Here he is with Grommit, our Aussie, sadly, no longer with us.

A loyal and sweet buddy.

Another dear companion, Jackson, no  longer with us.

Boy, did he love the water.

Two of my best boys.

I hope you are enjoying your summer! Xo

Aww, what wonderful pictures. We all need a little doggie diversion sometimes. =) Good luck with your deadline. Can’t wait to read whatever it is when it comes out.

    • Iza Trapani says:

Thanks Laura! I am working on the dummy for Little Miss Muffet (Fall 2013). I need to get the sketches done before we go to Maine for the month of August… I will share sketches soon!

  2. Sweet! An excellent deadline diversion! When will you be featuring these guys in a story, eh? :)

  3. Cathy Mealey says:

Woof! I’d offer to dogsit while you are away, but clearly Jambo is way MORE dog than I can handle! Conversely, there are many itty bitty dogs that don’t have enough dogginess for me.

My kids are currently enamoured with “Zorro Gets An Outfit” by Carter Goodrich. Hilarious! But can’t wait for your next one either. ;-D

    • Iza Trapani says:

Yes, he’s a lot of dog, Cathy, but you don’t have to bend over to pet him :-) Zorro looks adorable. I will have to get it!

  4. Lisa says:

Awww! He was so cute and tiny! Amazing he was ever so small. The other dogs are lovely, too. Thanks for sharing!

    • Iza Trapani says:

Thanks Lisa! I still can’t believe he was so tiny. He is the biggest, but the easiest dog I’ve ever had- mellow, obedient, and always amusing.

  5. Aw! Such beautiful boys, Iza! Love that Jambo picked you. That’s how we got my Scouty Brown too – she picked me :) Good luck with the deadline – Miss Muffet? – so exciting! I didn’t realize it was under contract! YAY!

    • Iza Trapani says:

Thank you, Susanna. I sat in the kennel with all the other pups and they basically ignored me, but Jambo kept coming back to scratch my knee. He’s such a lover. I’m glad Scouty Brown picked you!

  6. BODACIOUS BABIES! I love ‘em!!!!!!!!!!!!! Smooches to Jambo. I’m sorry that Grommit and Jackson are not with us anymore. :( Jackson looks like an Irish setter we used to have. Mork. He’s gone now. *sigh* I cannot wait to see the sketches, bbf. Little Miss Muffet sounds awesome. I will be excited to see the story when it comes out. Fall 2013! Gotcha! I heart you, bbf! xoxo

    • Iza Trapani says:

Thanks Robyn! I love the name, Mork and I’m sorry he’s gone. It’s so hard, isn’t it? I wanted to name Jambo “Horton” after Dr. Seuss’s sweet elephant, but the breeder talked me out of it, saying I had to give him an African name, since he’s an African Mastiff. Truth is, he is totally a Horton- gentle and lovable. And I am just too darn suggestible! Smooches to you, bbf!

  7. Stasha says:

Your family photos always make me so happy! Lovely companions! Jambo and you are meant to be!

    • Iza Trapani says:

Thank you, Stasha. You must be cringing at the quality of the pics, amazing photographer that you are! I am not a good photographer and some of these are scans of photos I had taken in pre–digital days.. But you are very sweet :-) Xox

  8. Love your “family”.
    Looking forward to your sketches.
    Another book, wow!

  9. Iza Trapani says:

I’m glad you like my family, Tracy! Thanks!

  10. Galit Breen says:

So very much puppy love! Love!
