I hope you’ve been having a wonderful summer!
I am back from our little island in Maine- back to internet service and indoor plumbing. Sun showers and sponge baths will do the trick, but there’s nothing like a real, high pressure, steaming hot shower. I will not discuss the color of the water that ran down the drain .
Anyway, I had a lovely time in Maine, reading, writing, sketching, spending time with good friends. I am rested and rejuvenated and it’s a good thing as I have a busy fall ahead. My new picture book, Little Miss Muffet is coming out in September. An early review from Kirkus calls it “a fun romp.” I hope you will too!
Below are a flyer and my fall event schedule. If you live nearby, I hope you’ll join me!

And now I am off to unpack, do laundry, food shop… all those things that need to be done when returning from vacation. Thank goodness it’s pouring rain or I’d have to add weeding to the list- though the deer have done quite a bit to help me out. Sadly, they weeded out my vegetables and flowers instead of the invasive thistle and garlic mustard. Oh well, that’s what I get for abandoning the gardens for my little island haven. It happens every year. Might as well get used to it!
