Bear Buzz

Happy Spring Everyone!

My bear isn’t even out of his den and  already people are talking about him! I am honored and delighted to share these early reviews with you:

“Seasons and  senses and bears, oh my!…a refreshing spin on an old sing-along favorite…will engage young readers and singers…A fine addition to the storytime shelf.”   Full review at Kirkus Reviews

“Filled with beautiful illustrations and a wonderful story line you will be transported to a fun world that you can share with your child over and over again. .. The story is fun and the illustrations just jump off the page. This is a wonderful book for the whole family!”  Full text at  Dad of Divas’ Reviews.

“… THE BEAR WENT OVER THE MOUNTAIN is a picture book we all enjoyed. Its beautifully illustrated and the bear is easy to get attached to. The book takes you on a magical journey through the four seasons. Each one is discovered with your senses. You can see, hear and smell the earth changing with the turn of the seasons. The story teaches children about the world in a way that they can understand. Its a wonderful way to teach them about the beauty and wonder of our ever changing planet while introducing them to a lovable character they will never forget.”  Full text at  New Age Mama Reviews.   (includes book giveaway!)

“…beautifully illustrated, with a fun rhyming text (or sing-along song!)… I like that this book explores nature, discusses the four seasons and talks about experiencing things with all your different senses.  This book will be available in April of this year and I highly recommend looking for it then!”   Full text at  Growing My Kids Reviews.

“… Not only was it a fun story line, but it was appealing to the eye as well.  The warm watercolors, lovely illustrations and wording of this book brings the old classic children’s song to life.  What’s more is the educational portion of this book, teaching children about their five senses and the four seasons, and them not even knowing it’s educational.  Iza Trapani did a wonderful job with this story! … I would consider putting this one on my must-have list!”  Full text at  Pajama Mommy Community’s Book Reviews.

“…My 7 1/2 year old daughter enjoys this book and loves to read it to me. This hardcover book is written and illustrated by the talented, Iza Trapani.  The watercolors throughout the book are so bright, colorful, and beautiful.  I love that this playful book encourages adventure and exploration!  My daughter loves nature, and this book is right up her alley.”  Full text at The Funky Monkey.

“Little ones will love cuddling up for a bedtime story with this beautifully illustrated version of The Bear Went Over the Mountain (Sky Pony Press April 2012)… tells an entertaining tale in a rhythmic way that  kids will adore reading (or singing!) again and again! This delightful children’s tale will be available April 1st, which is perfect for tucking in an Easter basket, as well! In addition to this new children’s book that is destined to become a classic, Iza Trapani also artfully wrote and illustrated The Itsy Bitsy Spider, which has sold over one million copies to date.”  Full text at  Tiny Green Mom.

“My kiddos love the song The Bear Went Over the Mountain, so they absolutely fell in love with the book. The illustration in the book is beyond fantastic and definitely draws the kids in. The story itself is great and like it says in the description it helps teach the kids their five senses and the four seasons…. This is definitely a must have for your kiddos collection!”  Full text at: Twice the Love…Half the Sleep.
