Old MacDonald Had a…Zoo? 3 book giveaway!

Hi All!

My husband and I recently returned from a road trip to California. We live in New York, so that’s a lot of driving! But what a country we have- so spectacular and varied. The song, “America, the Beautiful”,  kept recording in my mind as we passed through amber fields of grain and purple mountain majesties. We revisited places we’ve been to and explored new ones. A great trip, and highly recommended!

Upon our return, we adopted the sweetest puppy from our local animal rescue and sanctuary! He is a Lab/hound mix whom we named Nugget, and he is a constant source of love and amusement-and a bit of work too!

Now that I am back in town, I’ve been busy with booksigning events for Old MacDonald Had a…Zoo? And as promised, I am offering a giveaway. Just write a comment (by October 17th) telling me what your favorite wild animal is, and you’ll have a chance to win a signed copy. Three winners will be randomly chosen on Tuesday, October 17th at 8pm, and will be notified by email. Good luck!

Favorite wild animal… bunnies. I always get excited to see them in my yard. ❤️

    • Iza Trapani says:

Hi Suzy, You are lucky to have bunnies in your yard! We hardly ever see them on our property- but we do have lots of deer and turkeys.

  3. Jennie Snipes says:

Hi Iza! My favorite wild animal is the deer, and the lion. I can’t decide!

  4. Love your work! You are an inspiration 📚

  5. JoAnna Ferrari Beernaert says:

Loved following your trip across our country! We read your books every night and Christopher my son sings along to each one. Enjoy your new puppy!

  6. Marcie Davis says:

It’s hard to choose just one wild animal, Iza! I’d have to say it’s between the panda bear and the giraffe. I love how creative God is with all of nature, but especially in the animal world!

    • Iza Trapani says:

It’s true, Marcie! So many wonderful animals to choose from! I love pandas and giraffes too, but I think elephants are my favorite.

  7. Brittany A says:

My son says his favorite wild animal is the woodchuck that lives under our deck. We all love watching him play, even our cat enjoys watching him.

  8. A Great Horned Owl. I was a NPS Park Ranger (Law Enforcement) and one of my most memorable days had nothing to do with criminals, it was when we rescued an owl that was caught in a kite line that was in a tree. The poor thing had it’s wing snagged and was sort of tip toeing on the roof of one of the park buildings. We needed a Cherry-picker to get him down. I was very taken by his beautiful eyes. I was given the privilege of driving him to the Raptor Sanctuary. He recuperated and was released a few weeks later. I would love to have one of your books, my dog Lilah and I are a therapy dog team and besides nursing homes we also visit schools. The 3rd graders read to her and I love to bring stories along for them to read to her. Your book would be a great addition to our small collection. You can check her out on FB at Life with Lilah.

Hi IZA, my favorite has always been the bald eagle. Beautiful!
I have almost all of your books and year after year, my preschool class loves your books as much as I love reading them. Thank you for sharing your talent and putting smiles on so many children’s faces.

    • Iza Trapani says:

Oh, Terri, thank you SO much! The bald eagle is amazing. We have a couple of them nesting in our neighborhood, and it’s always a treat to see them!

  10. Lauri says:

I love elephants. The babies are so playful and clumsy and well, just babies. The mothers will watch over their young and let them play all the while ready to protect when needed. I love that the herd sticks together and they all watch out for one another. It takes a village…

  11. Eva Ingerson says:

Your books are beautiful and they never get old. I’ve used them daily for nearly 20 years in my preschool music classes. Can’t wait for “Old MacDonald.”

  12. Alison Remer says:

My favorite wild animal? It’s so hard to decide! I guess I would have to say a tortoise! They’re just so determined & cute!

    • Iza Trapani says:

Tortoises are a great choice, Alison!

    • Iza Trapani says:

Hi Alison, I’m not sure if my emails got to you, so trying here. You are one of the winners. Send me your mailing address and to whom you’d like the book signed. My email is iza at izatrapani dot com

  13. jama says:

Good to hear you had a safe and enjoyable road trip. Nugget is adorable — he looks very sweet and good natured.

As for wild animals, I’m partial to elephants, but also foxes, since we feed them in our back yard every night.

Congrats again on your new book!

    • Iza Trapani says:

Thank you, Jama. We are lucky to have sweet Nugget in our lives. He is delightful. Elephants are my favorite as well- such beautiful, gentle giants. And lucky you to have visiting foxes (and lucky foxes!)

  14. Eva Ingerson says:

Owls! Definitely owls! Fascinating creatures. Your books are beautiful and I have used them daily for nearly 20 years in my preschool music classes. Can’t wait for “Old MacDonald”

    • Iza Trapani says:

Oh wow, Eva, thank you so much for using my books all these years! I love owls too. We have a Barred owl in our woods that asks us most nights: Who,who who cooks for you?

  15. Welcome back, Iza! So glad your trip was great! And Nugget is darling – I hope I’ll get a chance to meet him in real life one of these days! 🙂 Hmm… favorite wild animal… that’s a tough one! So many amazing ones to choose from… I suppose I should say groundhogs 🙂 – and I do like them! – but I think I’m between the black bears who wander my woods and come up on the porch in search of birdseed, padding along on huge paws, their coats so glossy and dark, making that whuffing sound as they nose around, and the barred owl who lives in the front yard, sitting high in a tree like a sentry, watching all the comings and goings, and every now and then as twilight turns to dark I see him (well, I guess it might be a her!) open his wings and glide out of his tree, down through the woods, absolutely silent!

  16. Fran Wishnick says:

Hi Iza: Loved your trip pictures. Your food discoveries made my mouth water and I’ve marked a few locations for possible visits! My favorite wild animals are monkeys and gorillas – love their faces and antics.

    • Iza Trapani says:

Hi Fran! I’m glad you enjoyed the virtual trip! Thanks. I also love monkeys and especially gorillas- those soulful eyes.
