It has been ages since I have participated in a Poetry Friday. A bit of writer’s block, spring chores and a multitude of other demands have kept me away. But I have been enjoying everyone’s entries and thought I’d return today with a very short poem I wrote a few years ago. I whipped out this little picture to go with it. Be sure to check out all the other poems in the Poetry Friday Round up, hosted today by the wonderful and immensely creative, Jama Rattigan: Jama’s Alphabet Soup.
Saving Pennies
Although she tries to save them all,
There’s not much she can do,
For all the pennies run away
From penny-pinching Sue.

This is just too clever, Iza! Love those runaway pennies :).
Thanks, Jama!I love the Mango poem!
Tee-hee! Now that’s a clever concept! Those poor pennies getting pinched by naughty Sue. Welcome back, my friend! 🙂
Thanks, Renee! And I loved your reading and video of Annabelle Lee. Amazing- so beautiful!
Hahahaha, BBF. That miser Sue! She’s been a mischievous gal. I love her! *wink* Bravo, BBF. Bravo! I know the feeling about having lots of tasks to do. It’s planting season here on the farm, show season, and harvest (strawberries) season all rolled into one. Oops. I forgot hay gettin’ time too. *sigh* It’s a good thing there’s only one more week of homeschool. Or else I thinks I would flip my lid! Gigantic hugs. Millions and billions of hugs dear Iza!
Yes, BBF it’s a busy time for us farm girls. I don’t know how you do it all! I am glad you like my little miser. I had fun with that. Gazillions of hugs back! xoxo
Ha! Maybe we should hug our pennies instead of pinching them!!
Yes, Mary Lee! Hugs are better than pinches!
Very fun, Iza! 🙂 I love the idea of pennies running away to avoid being pinched! Very clever 🙂
Thanks, Susanna! 🙂
Such a fun poem and illustration, Iza! The pennies look none to fond of Sue despite her thrifty ways. Thanks for sharing! =)
Thank you, Bridget! I loved and related to your poem!
Seven little pennies, running away
Sue will have to pinch them some other day!
Love their coppery little faces, and arms and legs! So very Iza of you.
Haha! I love it, Cathy.
Those poor pennies surely flinched
At the thought of being pinched!
Hi Iza,
I always enjoy gazing at your artwork and reading your poems. 🙂
Thank you so much, Tracy! 🙂
You’re welcome! I’m the one who receives so much pleasure. 🙂
What a nice thing to say, Tracy. Again, thank you!
